Metropolitan Archbishop

Archbishop Corey Alexander Jenkins is a worshipper and servant-leader with a desire to align people with the plans and purposes of God for their lives. He is the founding Patriarch and Metropolitan of the Convergence Archdiocese of Christ the Lamb, an extraterritorial Convergence Jurisdiction of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. He also serves as the Senior Pastor of the Christian Empowerment Church; a gathering of believers with a mission to build people and transform lives.  He shares this ministry with his wife of almost twenty years, Lady Bonita Jenkins.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Archbishop Corey was blessed to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and received his foundation in the Christian Faith at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. After relocating to North Carolina, Archbishop Corey began his ministerial and leadership service and training serving in various capacities such as Praise and Worship Leader, Prison Ministry Worker, Minister of Music, and Adjutant. In 2004, he began serving as a minister at Tehillah Church Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Anthony W. Slater. In 2006, he was ordained an Elder at the hands of Bishop D. Myles Golphin, Presiding Prelate of Living In Favor Global Network. It was here that then, Elder Jenkins served as National Worship Leader and Chief Adjutant.

In July, 2012, He was commissioned as an Apostle by Apostles Leroy and Francine Hargett, along with Archbishop Cornell T. Whitehead who additionally, appointed him as a General Overseer. In December 2013, he connected with Greater Destiny World Ministries Fellowship of Churches and was consecrated Bishop by Bishop B. Jamal Broadnax assisted by Bishop Myron Dawson and Bishop Jeffrey York.

In 2016, Archbishop Corey transferred into Liturgical/Sacramental ministry and was brought into Holy Orders of the Deaconate and Priesthood of the Abyssinian Apostolic Church, at the hands of Archbishop Darel E. Chase. He was also received into sacred orders of the Holy Order of Saint Paul the Apostle, which is a sacred, ecumenical order dedicated to biblical scholarship and unity within the body of Christ. Later that year, he was simultaneously ordained and consecrated Bishop and Archbishop by Archbishop B. Jamal Broadnax, Patriarch of the Greater Destiny Communion, Pontiff Charles R. Hill, then, Patriarch of Ambassadors For Christ Ministries Of America, and Archbishop Darel E. Chase, Patriarch of the Abyssinian Apostolic Church and established a Jurisdiction, the United Anglican Convergence Church. The established Jurisdiction grew into an Order, which grew into an Extra-Territorial Province. In November of 2018, at the Inaugural General Assembly of the United Anglican Convergence Church, Archbishop Corey received a Patriarchal elevation at the hands of Archbishop Darel E. Chase.

Archbishop Jenkins has a Certificate in Episcopal Studies and a Bachelor of Ministry degree from Metropolitan Christian University and has received an honorary Doctor of Ministry degree from Saint Benedict’s Seminary, an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Seminario Pontifico Mayor and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Metropolitan Christian University.
